Easy Changes to Improve the game.

they dont have ad breaks with stop clocks in rugby league.its the only fair way
Rugby league’s average ball-in-play has increased to 79% (up from 72% in 2014). Lots of individual games the BIP is well over 80%.

The Premier League’s average BIP is down at 61% BIP, City (who have the highest BIP stats) are still down at 66%.

Football needs to learn from rugby league and see how it can improve this.

This is the worst thing about football. Far more of a problem than racism is, which is just a small number of isolated incidents, whereas time wasting is done by dozens of players every week, ruining the spectacle. But the sport is pointing the finger at the fans all the time and telling us we need to cut out our racism when 99% of us have never been racist and 75% of footballers are time-wasting sport-ruining cunts.

Indirect free kicks for accidental handball in the area, not penalty.

10 mins sin bin... its a must. Its being used across the country at lower levels and would reduce reds, would stop time wasting, would stop professional fouls, stop dissent towards the ref (mainly) Its a no brainer.

Var team to have a Target of reducing var interventions.

Only players to become refs. Hmm maybe.

I’ve long since said that the whole disciplinary procedure needs overhauling. A straight red card, no arguments, these days was often not even a foul 20 years ago. A yellow card used to be a pretty big deal. In the 80s teams would typically have no more than a dozen a season. Now they’re ten a penny. Yet the punishments have barely changed.

I don’t think a sin bin is the answer though. It’s a big deal in rugby having a man shy in the defensive line. In football it would result in the team who’s a man down just desperately wasting as much time as they can get away with, until they’re back up to a full complement, irrespective of the score. We’ve got enough time wasting as it is, without encouraging it.

Put the time wasters in the sin bin. Sorted.

Bring in a rule like ice hockey where you have to have a player in the opposition half, have a 10 yard line either side of halfway where they can’t be offside. This will make teams not play 11 at the back and encourage more open games. For me this “low block” is just boring negative football and stops teams trying to attack

If we’re going to go down the ice hockey route, maybe teams having an enforcer will liven things up a bit by having a fight during a dull game?
