I’m not saying you should agree but that’s not really a reason in itself to be against it.
I might be wrong here but I don’t think they ever show adverts between full time and extra time. Or extra time and penalties.
You don't watch many foreign channels I take it?
You may be right, but if you Institutionalise between 20 and 30 5 and 10 second delays each game I can easily see the income signs flashing in the corridors of the mighty. And by that, to be clear, I mean the PL.
If you are looking for other reasons to be against it:
Part of the appeal of football is its continuous nature. It's 90 minutes of action-packed entertainment (or it should be if stoppages are refereed properly), not a sequence of plays like some other sports. Even jockeying for position at throw-ins, or at goalkicks has an interest (or it should have if time taken is refereed properly) that would be lost if playing time was stopped with unlimited time taking for the restarts.
Also, time-wasting isn't just about wasting time. It's also about breaking concentration / stopping momentum. That would only get worse if stops in playing time were institutionalised, for the same reason.
At the end of the day, I just think there are better, existing ways of managing ball in play time by actually refereeing properly, than needlessly tinkering with a 150 year old law of the game.
