If you can Eccles , the Sunday lunch is off the scale . Literally the best ever . Better than Moor Hall btw .
This place is Michelin star bound IMHO .

It’s getting busier and busier. Reckon soon you’ll have to book weeks in advance. If it is full you could try Karen’s Diner next door :)

I work in the northern quarter and I always see people queuing down the street to get in there, near the back of the shitty arndale car park entrance. Usually Instagram tourist types.

Baffles me. It’s a perfectly fine cafe but no better than or different to the billion other brunch-ey coffee shops in town.

Yep
Went in a couple of weeks back whilst working in town . Average just about covers it food wise. It was also full of people taking photos of their food .

Cheers for the suggestions. I think I’ll try out Trof I’ve heard they do a decent full English. Then I’ll head round the corner to Lower Turks Head for a pint if I have time.

Hare and hound a few doors up has probably the best pint of holts bitter in Manchester. It's a great boozer and I tend to give the turks head a swerve due to costs also .

Yeah I know what u mean.
I certainly wouldn't queue to get in there! Like you said there's so much choice nowadays but it's still nice grub n hits the spot. Wetherspoons still good for a breakie and a pint early kick off.
 
Went to Sapporo Teppinyaki midweek. For the price you expect absolutely amazing food and service. Instead you get a glorified stir fry, get food thrown at you by the chef and come away with your clothes smelling of grill.
Just wasn't my thing.

Recent recommendations from me:
Dishoom (popular on here is fantastic) for Indian.
Fazenda for meat lovers
Piccolinos for Italian as it's better bang for buck than San Carlo. Also they do an amazing Sunday Roast (you have to ask for menu as it's not on table).
Dimitri's for Greek tapas
Family places - Rudy's for pizza, Wagamama for the Katsu Chicken curry, Indian Tiffin Room for Indian
Pub Grub/British - The Wharf and Chop Houses.
Work nights out where bill splits cause issues -Hatch in summer, Society and Mackie Mayor.

Frustrating to place to walk up and try because of queue. That deansgate one is never quiet.

The Koffee pot on the Great Ancoats side of Oldham Street if you can get in. The last couple of times I have tried to get a breakfast there it's been a 40 minute
wait. The breakfast is bang on though....and tea and toast is included in the price.
This new fad by cafes of advertising a full breakfast at a certain price and then charging another £1.50 for a slice of toast and £2.50 for coffee pisses me off.
Got caught out in a cafe on New York St behind Piccadily when they served me my breakfast with no tea/coffee or toast and it cost me an extra £6.00 to upgrade.
