Had Sunday lunch at Groobarbs in High Legh on Sunday. It was superb. We sat at a communal table with strangers. It was a set menu of four courses for £35 and drinks were extra. The food was outstanding though, and we didn't need an evening meal after it.
An appetiser of beetroot soup with cocoa bread was surprisingly tasty, followed by roast cauliflower in cheese sauce for the starter. Also great, and a very generous portion.
Main course was roast topside of beef, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and seasonal vegetables, with gravy. Sticky toffee pudding finished the meal off.
It was a bit different, but very enjoyable, great food, and a nice feeling of community in the atmosphere.
