a team like crystal palace being able to offer wages of £200k/week is fucking madness tbh.
To be fair, players don't make their decisions on hope. If your current clup wants to push you from 40 gran a week to 150- 200 you sign the deal. If some bigger club thinks you are worth it they'd still come get you regardless of fee.
The higher the bigger club pays the more likely they'd give you more opportunities early on btw. So sign what you can sign to give you the best deal you can. There is no guarantee City won't find another shinnier object and go elsewhere the next season.
You can't plan your future on hope.
Think Palace are expecting to turnover £170m plus this year so will be spending about 6% of it on Eze's wages. Big commitment if that's the offer but at least £100m of that turnover is dependent on them staying in the top flight and if keeping him helps ensure it well worth the risk. Probably replacing the Zaha wages. Would not turn it down if I was Eze.
He’d only be an idiot if he does not get his agent to agree on an exit clause/release clause to renew terms. Otherwise it looks beneficial for both parties

When we were linked with him this summer everybody seemed universally underwhelmed. Now we’re complaining if he commits to Palace. SMH
