Ebola Outbreak

Can't remember who it was but some guy said on the news the other day that the longer this outbreak continues the more chance of it mutating to become airborne. Has it mutated at all since the first outbreak was identified in 1976?
Yep. All diseases mutate, all the time, otherwise they die when our immune systems adjust to them.

Just heard a boffin say Ebola will not take hold in Europe, it's a 10 deg North and a 10 deg South of the Equator disease
Weird way of putting it but he could be right...hopefully

I heard some "expert" saying a few weeks ago that this strain of Ebola is different from previous strains, it is killing a smaller percentage of people who catch it and it is taking longer to kill those that die. These differences mean it is much more difficult to stop it spreading than previous outbreaks.

Did he give reasons why it should only spread "10 deg North and a 10 deg South of the Equator"?

Did he say why? Someone posted above that Ebola would do better in a colder climate because the cold lowers our immune system

Yeah.... I go to benidorm on a stag do on Thursday.... Should I be worried? Genuinely thinking of not going

No, he just said it likes that region, it was a bit of a bizarre interview

I'd rather have Ebola than go back to Benidorm. It's the last thing you need to worry about in that place.

You should be more worried about sticky vicky shooting ping pong balls into your mouth from her snatch...
