Ebola Outbreak

By any sensible estimation, Ebola is out of the cage and dangerous on a worldwide scale. The statements from Western governments are clearly pre researched soundbites designed to quell general fears. The non existent to very low risk assertion is simply not logical. The NHS nearly buckled under the flu challenge of 2011 and that was nowhere near the challenge level a largely lethal virus would present.

I'm expecting this to get a lot worse.

Are there designated hospitals around the country to deal with it? Anyone know?
Yes. There are specific hospitals to fit with the designated area containment plan. There are chosen to be smallish and with the lowest public access.

There are and the majority appear to be in the north.

Well anyone with relatives, friends in wythenshawe hosp will have noticed them sending home as many ppl as poss and disinfecting wards over the last few days. Will be like a ghost town tomorrow - all geared up and ready for a crisis

As usual the Government are all over the place regarding whether to screen or not.
The situation is chaotic.
It's one thing to spin and play politics but ask them to actually do something or take action and they're all over the shop.

The guy that has died in Macedonia was in UK a week ago and hasn't visited Africa. But it's only suspected Ebola.
