You cannot type that with a straight face surely, sometimes it is better to ponder for a while rather than post

I am actually totally against referenda on any subject. I think they are bad politics.

My personal view on it. Sorry you dont agree, but i dont like them. We have MPs we elect, we pay them to make our decisions for us. Government by referenda is just not feasible on any level.

Switzerland do ok.

They do very well and it's because they all count so they all care.

Slightly off topic but it is fabulous to see events like this in manchester. That shot of media city on itv news at ten then was brilliant. Love having media city up here now. So important to perception of our city.

Agreed, and question time now being in Salford.

P.s come on Labour!

Switzerland do ok.

They get about 50% turnout for referendums and only have 5 million voters. Not sure that classifies as doing ok.

But it's something like 85% cumulative, meaning over the last 5 years 85% of the electorate have voted in at least 1 referendum with an average of around 50%. You have to remember that it only takes 100000 votes to get a question on the ballot so there are some which are quite local issues that many don't care about.

Who's idea at Tory party HQ was it to put Michael Gove on Question Time this evening?

He's doing his party no favours tonight.

Well, as someone who was actually at the debate I'll tell you how they performed;

1. Sturgeon
2. Wood
3. Clegg
4. Cameron
5. Farage
6. Miliband
7. Bennett

The thing I found really interesting is that in real life David Cameron is only 3 foot high and has to wear 27 inch heels and stand on a box to be able to peer over the podium.

Wold never have guessed that.
