Eden Hazard (continued)

I think he will do everything to get him and he might just get him purely because to them this is their statement piece, this is them saying look we are still just as good as city, we will take back the title from them next season, just like we took the player they wanted.

BUT like i keep on saying, it doesnt solve the problems they need solving, they need another striker, little penis and wellbeck quite simply arent up to the job and neither is a midfield consisting of oaps and mediocre midfielders and if he thinks that ferdinand can play a full season including europe with only a back up of evans and smalling then he is further gone than i thought he was.

I know they equalled us on points this year but their luck wont last forever.

Having not seen any interview with Hazard stating a preference to a team yet I'm quite happy waiting to see what happens, this is his 1st and possibly final big transfer of his short career and I'm not surprised he's waiting to decide the outcome. Whoever gets him will be lucky as he is a talent, who, if progresses the way he's going will be a star player. We have everything in place, moreso than Utd (whose manager will retire or die half way through a 4/5 yr contract) and Chelsea (no manager-major rebuild required sooner rather than later) for him to step in with no pressure and show what he can do with players around him that are of the stature he wishes to be (world class I.e Yaya, Silva, Aguero et al) and who will guide him correctly. If the stumbling point is wages then so be it but again I've seen no proof of him demanding £200,000 per week.

He could go elsewhere but even with taking your blue tinted specs off and just being a football fan - which team would you choose? City everyday for me.

Tolm, the Hazard camp seem to be working to a deadline (think it was the 2nd June) - I wonder if if we have set that deadline - to accept our offer or we move on to other targets? Have you heard anything?

I expect it has more to do with the upcoming internationals, not really a window for him to do what he has to do.

Hopefully, during this time, regardless of what Vinny might say, he will tip the scales, just as Zab did with Aguero at the South American championship last summer.

We don't need to set deadlines, we made our stance clear already when it came the wages on offer, which his agent obviously thought he could ramp up.

In the next week, we will see and read United, City, Chelsea and even Madrid, aree suddenly in pole.
my £500 not looking as rosy then mate!!

May that be a lesson to you mate to never bet on football transfers,no matter how good you think the odds are,i hope you win fella i really do.

The agent is playing quite a clever game in the most recent quotes that have been revealed. For him to state that terms have been agreed with all three clubs and that the decision lies with Hazard alone puts pressure on each club to better their offer and attempt to sway the bidding war in their favour. It is merely mind games which result in financial gain for both his agent and the player concerned.

I would question his ambitions if he is to join a team which finished runners up and failed to win anything last season despite offers from the premier league champions and the european champions. Despite the financial gain, a player is judged on his accomplishments at the end of his career. Our future is more promising than the other clubs mentioned as we have set the foundations for long-term success given the young age of the spine of our team in comparison to Chelsea's and United's.

Your money/potential winnings and losses is clouding your judgement, pal, you need to take a step back or it will drive you crazy, same for others.

It's one of the reasons why I don't bet on stuff like this, myself. I could have made fortunes down the years, lost fortunes, too.

There is nothing in my recent posts for you to gauge a downturn in optimism, just my present opinion and dose of realism.

The recent accounts released bythe Rags showed that their cash reserve had fallen to £20m. In order for them to buy players they would have to:

a) Rely on a cash injection from Uncle Malcolm - Not likely to happen.
b) Go further into debt - Can't see UM wanting to do this as they are making inroads into the debt and they wouldn't want to go backwards.
c) Partially Float on a Far East stock market -Tried this and there was insufficient interest so they didn't pursue it.
d) Sell players - Only Rooney would have a significant transfer value to enable them to rebuild to the extent that they require. If they did do this then the loss of Rooney would surely outweigh the positives of new signings

All this raises the question that if they are in for Hazard + other targets, where is the cash coming from?

I reckon we can pretty much rule them out a bidding war with us (or Chelsea, RM & Barca) for any of our targets. So the the gap is going to widen further.

Betting on anything to do with your own team is even dafter that betting on anything - personal opinion.
