I also regretted cheering for Chelsea very soon after. It proved a point to the so-called 'old order' and you can't say that players like Drogba didn't deserve it, but it was unquestionably bad for City. Not a disaster or anything, but Spurs in that CL spot couldn't compete with us for players because they couldn't pay the wages.

You see that is the bit I am not certain of because with CL money they might well have gone for Hazard and if it is solely down to living in London neither here or there whether West end or North London.
 
I'm glad as I don't want Chelsea focussing on the Prem and Spurs are now vulnerable to losing their players. In December Chelsea will have to play in that world club thingy too now.

I wouldn't have liked losing out on Silva Aguero or Yaya but Hazard...meh. Chelsea are a distance behind us and Hazard going there means the rags don't get him either.

Good point and at Spurs he would play the no. 10 week in week out because VDV is mostly injured and would have no real competition for his place. Even when we weren't in the Champions League we still got Silva and Yaya so I don't think it makes that much of a difference.
 
I'm very happy that Chelsea are strengthening, i want all teams around us to strengthen as long as we don't stand still whilst they are doing it.
 
If the club hasn't withdrawn from the bidding completely, we still have the Kompany factor don't we? He's probably with Hazard as we speak.
