That’s your opinion so it’s not end of conversation
Ederson has been excellent and is arguably the clubs all time best ever keeper show some respect
Trafford has a long way to go but has looked ok not been tested yet really though
Swift; Trautman; plus Joe Hart and Joe Corrigan push Eddy down to number 5.

Pep was asked about Ederson in his post match press conference and he chose to answer in general

They can go but only if the conditions of the club are met.

Id go with this.
Joe corrigan was my first hero
Joe hart was brilliant.
My dads utter hero was bert so ill trust him on that and the stories of england captain , rare for a keeper, swift puts him up there too.
Id possibly add tony coton to that list too. He was a great goaly.

Ederson is a strange one to rate because as a ‘keeper’ hes ok, nothing special, but as a ‘footballer’ he was totally integral to how we played and without him a lot wouldnt have happened

What I don't understand from Ederson's point of view is that in 12 months he's a free agent. Surely from a financial perspective its better for him to leave on a free and get a potential signing on fee somewhere. He must really want out if he's prepared to leave now.
Never come across like someone particularly interested in money and we should respect he wants to go to Turkey and try that league.

Spot on , Ederson is an average goalkeeper but marvellous with his feet and a huge part of our success.

Average? Keepers for league 1 and 2 are average.

I remember Big Joe booting it out vs West Ham turning found to go back to goal as the ball was volleyed back over his head into the goal . Loved Joe but he had many a clanger

You’re absolutely correct. This idea that Ederson is an average goalkeeper is false. You don't win everything we have while he has been here with an average keeper. Yes, there are better shot stoppers, but Ederson was particularly adept at sprinting out and snuffing out a chance before it materialised. It used to amuse me when people talked about how good De Gea was at stopping one-on-ones, because on many of those instances, Ederson would have come out and snuffed out the opportunity before it became one. Sometimes you don't realise what you have until it's gone.

Greatest ever for me ! what is a save though ? For example -
Donnarumma is one on one on the edge or the box and dives at the feet of Salah
Ederson is 30 yards out of is box and beats Salah to the ball and passes the ball out wide to a winger
Both in my opinion
Ah well he’s off unfortunately good luck and all the best and happy birthday Ederson

That’s exactly what I’ve just written you did it more eloquently though Sir

I'd add that you can't really compare say, Swift or Trautman to Eddy due to the different requirements needed today. Joe Hart was brilliant for us but he was old enough to be on the cusp of when the goalies needed strengths started to change (and not just for us).
