Ederson (defensive midfielder Atalanta)

He was really good tonight against real , someone said he looks like Fernardo no fucking way mate
 
A very good player but the freedom and movement at Atalanta means it's hard to know how good he would be playing in a more structured side. What is clear is his energy and ability and you can see he would be able to play next to Rodri where Zubimendi is probably too similar in style and would only be an option as cover.

With Rodri being eased back he isn't the worst of suggestions. The issue is the price.
 
This lad would go a long way to solving our biggest problem at the moment - our total inability to stop teams running through our midfield. He's a big, strong, rangy fucker.
 
This guy is the real deal.

Snuffs counters and shields the backline.

But can carry it forward and get the ball to the forwards quickly.

He has the physicality and stamina as well.

It will likely cost 70-80m atleast, but worth it, considering we will likely save on some defender positions and maybe a cheap Jonathan David.

We can splurge a bit here and be reassured of his quality.
 
It seems too good to be true. Atalanta wouldn't cut their own throats, especially with them having a realstic chance of winning the Scudetto.
 
Looks like he is more of a box to box and not at all a defensive mid. However Fernandinho was that too when we bought him from Shaktar.

I see him as someone who is better than Kovacic as our defensive mid right now and someone that can replace Bernardo’s legs in midfield when Rodri is back

Of the 3 links, this is the least likely for that reason, Atalanta would be crazy.

But if we go 80m, probably a record transfer fee for them, maybe they have debts, they might bite.

I agree . Now way will they sell unless we pay over the odds and they have no choice . Good player though .
