Nice stat posted on reddit, he had more passes completed today that Erikson or Ali.

He seems to love it when teams press high on us, and likes to taunt strikers, he always seems to wait to the very last moment to pass when under pressure, and then passes it with the absolute ease, i would hate being a striker who is instucted to close down on him, just gives him the opportunity to toy with them.

A rag mate of mine said and I quote. "To be fair, I've never seen a keeper pass like that before."

I think plenty of Rags were watching tonight in the vein hope we might have slipped up, especially without Silva.
 
Thought he might have got praised on motd for his performance, he's going to be great for us. Great stopper and passes as well as any midfielder.

I thought that pass to Sterling was one of the best I've seen, full stop.

The margin for error between the defender heading it, or t sailing over Sterling's head, was so small. When you see it coming towards you, well the fullback thought he was going to head it, as did I, then it became apparent it had an extra two yards of legs on it, & then it just lost it's flight at the last second & dropped onto Sterling's chest.

I've sat in a similar viewing area since the new Kippax was built & I've never seen anyone hit a ball like that.

Zico would have had that pass framed and put on his wall if he'd hit it, but the lad is doing it against every team to push up on us, he's incredible.

The club will be missing a trick if they don't release a compilation of his best passes at the end of the season, I'd happily pay a few quid for it.
 
did exactly what I wanted today, protected Mangala and the back 4 by pinging it out straight to the midfielders so we broke the first press, worked beautifully. We can really get through those difficult pressing sides if he keeps that up.
 
His kicking was ridiculous yesterday. The one for Raheem the obvious stand out but he hit walker in the first half with a dropped half volley that was a laser. Like a scalpel, that boys foot.
 
I have been fortunate enough to witness the evolution of the sweeper keeper in my lifetime from Stanley Menzo, Edwin van der Sar, Valdes and Manuerl Neuer but I think Ederson is the most atypical of this ideal. His passing is only matched perhaps by Ter Stegen of Barcelona. The only weakness that he can work on at the moment is his aerial presence.
