I never suggested that he wasn't (I suggested that there's an argument over whether he is good enough to be first choice in front of Aguero and Negredo), yet one of his Bosnian friends jumped up and decided to start an argument just in case I said something that might possibly be construed by someone somewhere as not saying Dzeko is better than Messi.

Well done for proving my point better than I could have possibly done myself.

people on here need to realise thats its the fine line between a good performance and a bad one and an average one.

Does phil the power taylor get a 9 darter every game?? er no. does he try?? yes,of course he does as hes well capable of doing it.
Does Ronnie O'sullivan get a 147 break every time??er no.does he try?? yes of course he does as hes well capable of doing it..
Does Dzeko score every game he plays?? er no.Does he try??yes of course he does as hes well capable of doing so..

Two of these sportsmen are world champions and the best ever at their sport,Edin Dzeko is far from the best in the world yet the same rules apply to him..

Everything has to come together to get the perfect performance including a little luck..

I enjoy watching Edin Dzeko cos im well aware of what hes capable of..doesnt happen all the time..but it doesnt happen all the time for the absolute best either..

But when it does,im proud hes a city player..maybe I look to deep into it,I dont know, or maybe others arent looking deep enough??

A nine darter and a 147 as hard as scoring a goal?

Scoring is not easy but those feats would probably equate to a hatrick to maybe 5 goals in a game. However, they are odd comparisons and rather irrelevant to the point is what I'm saying.

What I initially said is Edin is playing very well, but he should be playing like this more consistently because he can. Not just scoring, he's putting in more effort, he's tracking back, linking up play, winning headers etc.

All the things we all know he can do but hasn't done or doesn't do on a regular basis. Of course he tries to score every game like you said, but that's not my point.

It's great to see him doing it now, but as LT said he's just doing his job and giving 100%, as much as anyone else.

And there you have it.. 12 mins played Dzeko shoulda had a pen..brought out a great save from the keeper then scores our 100th goal..

Dude you, myself, noise, and the egal guy knows hes world class simple as that. hes the best poacher/scorer in the team by far.. his other side of the game might not be world class but his goal instincts are

If his goal instincts were ''world class'' he would have scored more than 20 EPL goals since he came to this club.

The fact that Negredo outclassed him in his first season says enough.

Dzeko is a good 3rd choice striker, but not someone for the starting 11 as long as we got Negredo and Agüero. A world class player should be able to do more than score goals, which means he is not a world class player but his fanboys might think that.

Edin is good enough to be the 3rd choice striker for MCFC, not to be a regular starter.
