But it seems to me City is not interested in young healthy & prolific strikers, they like a little bit more other older players, with knee surgeries, asking for one last BIG paycheck and fewer matches per season :(

Yeah, I guess a 28 year old (Eto) who recently scored in the Champions league final and a 25 year old (Villa) are the old players to whom you are referring. I can see how signing this releatively unknown would make much more sense.
If you are referring to RSC, he to was a star in Germany. how was he last year?
 
RSC was not a star in Germany - well not for his exploits on the field, but merely for the fact he played for the league's biggest outfit in Bayern - Santa scored 33 goals in over 150 games for Bayern - a goal every 5 games - hardly prolific.

There's a reason why he left for 3.5 mill & to Blackburn of all places...& thats the same reason he isn't at the level we should be looking at right now.

Dzeko looks to be the real deal & fits our needs precisely, he would be a great signing.
 
He looks really good and lots of good reports on him. Top scorer for the Bundesliga Champions and a great international record too. And for a reported £9-10m, a real bargain compared to RSC/Crouch etc...

As we all know there are some really good players and teams in Germany... Didn't I hear that Trochowski was upset that Jol had left Hamburg?
 
This is 100% a player we should be signing, he has got it all and is only 23 years old. He is a player heading towards his peak and will be a big star before long and I would love that to be at City.

Would go so far as to say if we get him he will prove to be the best signing of the summer for us.

haha i don't agree that we are only after has beens but david villa is 27 not 25. Santa Cruz was nothing like a star in Germany, he was injured most of the time and his goal record was 1 in 5. I'd hardly call that a star.

I'm in the camp that there's a lot of class players out there who aren't playing for the top teams. we just need to find them and bring them here. Why can't we find the next Kaka or Ronaldo? This is the approach i'd like us to be taking to supplement the ready made players we're buying. We can afford to do it now and can hopefully atract wonderkids to the club on the premise that they'd play more here than elsewhere and by the time they're ready for the first team we'll be a European force.

Check out his Bio... This kid's no flash in the pan, he's done well and been successful every season he's played, OK only 23 but that's why he's easily worth a £9m punt!

Plus his 1st team FK Željezničar in Bosnia wear light blue..
