Edin Dzeko.

For those saying he has no pace, think about Shearer. He was never very quick and I wouldn't even say his first touch was that brilliant but he was brave, strong and could hit the ball with both feet and was good in the air and he had the poachers instinct. Shearer ended up the PL leading all time scorer with a 1.7 goal/game ratio...........

The amount of strikers that miss out on goals because they are no good in the air (or short) or are ridiculously one-footed won't apply to Dzeko.

If he turns out to be even 2/3 as good as Shearer he'll be a pretty good buy, any more will be great.

LOL

I think dzeko needs a pre season behind his belt, and then we can judge him, in addition I think he needs far better service, if he gets the ball in the box, and takes a shot: it will most likley end up in us doing the poznan. e.g blackburn and bolton

Nice little story about Edin at the victory parade on Monday:
Manchester City fan Heather Fletcher received more than she bargained for when she attended the club's parade to celebrate winning their first trophy in 35 years.

For Heather, who is the Muslim Jewish Forum of Greater Manchester's secretary, began a conversation with City's £27 million striker Edin Dzeko at the pre-parade reception at Manchester Town Hall on Monday celebrating their recent FA Cup win. She and Forum co-chairman Afzal Khan managed to persuade the Bosnian Muslim to address the group.

Heather, of Salford, said: "Afzal spotted Edin and said we should speak to him because he was a Muslim. "We started chatting and told him about the Forum and he told us that it sounded interesting and he would love to help us. "We asked him if he could give a talk to our members and he told us he would be delighted to. Edin is a really lovely and well-spoken man."

I think that people in the UK are far more open and more educated than that...

anyway qualifiers coming up, uefa lifted the ban so dzeko will play a key role against romania and albania in upcoming matches for bosnia and herzegovina

When you say "more open" do you mean vulnerable?

xD

I think that next year he is going to insanely good!

For me, he didn't really get going since he joined. I think that is down to the fact that he had obviously never played English football and the 3 week christmas break Germany has, along with him being quite ill for them 3 weeks.

If he has a good pre season then boom, we could have a goal machine tearing up the premier league.
