Edin or Mario?

I have been a big Mario fan since we bought him, but I have come to the conclusion he is a luxory player we can well do without.
Sometimes he is entertaining and he gives us a laugh but he not a team player and he is always likely to do something really stupid and often does.
Edin, who I have not been a fan of, for me is a much better option and I have come to the conclusion he will improve the more he plays.
Some of goals he made last season, Arsenal away for Sergio, the pass to Davy at the Swamp and some of his goals like the 2 at the swamp, the ones at QPR away and at home to QPR, his 4 at Spuds prove this guy can play.

I think we would be better selling Mario, no one will ever fix his head, not even Bobby.

We all need to get behind Edin he could turn out to be a big star one day, lets hope its for us.

I've said it before and i'll say it again. With the right system in place, Edin Dzeko would be a 25 goal a season striker. He'd be in his element playing for a team with gifted wingers. I'm talking about the likes of Bayern Munich, Udinese, Chelsea or - I feel dirty even thinking about this - the rags. I have no doubt that Edin would thrive in such an environment, given that it would allow him to fully utalize his main strengths as a front man. As it is we're only seeing glimpses of what the man can do. He's not made for a team as narrow as our own.

Keeping this in mind, i'd have to go with the unpredictable Balotelli. As fantastic as I feel Dzeko can be, I don't think we'll ever see the best out of him with our tactics and formation. Mario on the other hand is much more suited to Mancini's gameplan. He's still too much of a risk for my liking though, and if rumours of PSG willing to pay forty million for him were true then I would have ripped their hands off. Something tells me it was merely newspaper bullshit, though. I can't imagine Mario wanted to join the French league either way. Mario has the potential to be a true world class talent, sure... but does he have the mentality? Mancini seems to think so. I can only hope he is proved right.

for whatever reason, mario only seems to be able to unleash his talent on a regular basis if he's coming off the bench. Lordy only knows why but if he starts it just doesnt seem to click. Perhaps he's in the wrong pairing up front, perhaps he's being played slightly out of his own favoured role, perhaps he just thinks he'll get chances on a plate, perhaps nobody is on his wavelength and doesnt quite play the ball that unlocks him?

anyway, until this changes I would rather have edin on from the start with mario raring to go off the bench, either if we're chasing things or if we're cruising to give one of the others a rest....

I'd choose Dzeko, I agree with all you have said but I have to say the faith is dwindling, that shot that deflected off Tevez would have hit the corner flag, he wasn't very far out from goal and had all the time in the world to set himself, not what you'd expect from any pro let alone a £27m striker.
Balotelli will take too long to mature and may never get the most out of his talent, I have to say it's usually behaviour that goes along with being a bit thick, shame really!

I agree 100%. With Tevez & Aguero Dzeko is never going to get the run of games he needs. He'll get some starts in CC and FA cup games, the occasional start here and there and some late subs. He's never going to be happy with that. To me Mario is best as a sub. Come in for the last 20 mns when everyone is a bit fatigued and he doesn't have long enough to lose his head and get into trouble. He doesn't seem to need the run of games to be successful that Dzeko does and he seems to be OK with not starting every game.

I desperately want them to sign Falcao in January. Then move Dzeko & Balotelli. Maybe keep one in case Tevez changes his mind again. I think we need another CF that we can count on if we are going to win the CL and PL in the coming future. I think we could win one or the other with what we have but not both. I don't think Dzeko and Balotelli can be counted on game in game out. They are just too streaky.
