Has anybody been there for the New Year celebrations? There's about 6-10 of us currently talking about going and we're all pretty keen. Just thought I'd see what the best thing to do is with regards to places to go as well as prices.

A mate of mine went up for New Year once, years ago. Only went for the night but he was gone for about a week!
I'm born & bread from Edinburgh & so am Bias. The New Year is amazing up here. You will need to be on the ball to get tickets for the Street Party but if you do the Fireworks from Edinburgh castle & atmosphere is ace. (It will be cold!)
What prices are you interested in? It's cheaper than London if that's what you mean.
I know about area's & places to stay, depending on what you want. Any specific info you need Simon please feel to PM me mate.

I'v been there twice for new year years ago, like the previous poster said you'll have to be quick with the tickets and accomodation, it usually gets booked up pretty quick, but what an experience, they usually have some pretty good bands on as well in the gardens at the side of princess street.
Cheers for the info lads. Me and my mate said we'll get in touch with the rest of our group this week and try to just book ourselves into a hostel or something. I think we're looking at getting the accommodation sorted before anything else but once we have booked it we'll start looking into other stuff. I'll have a quick look into ticket snow though.
