Rascal?

Are you suggesting the UAF don't use violence?

I was pointing out what i saw in Piccadilly gardens. Loads of people were watching on as they had a band playing and an American couple asked me what was happening. I explained and they looked bemused to be fair but didnt look threatened or worried.

Compare the UAF rally with this

Please realise i think its an absolute democratic right that everyone should be able to march, protest and proffer the views they hold.

Hang on! Isnt that a city smoke bomb. Bluemoonies meeting in nearby pub??????????????????????

Then decent people have every right to oppose them. By doing this it does not make you the same.

These ***** are no better.

Who the fuck is this woman talking to?

The UAF talk through their arses.

The UAF rise above violence by using violence. Wait what.
The guy in the shades and the one in the hat are members of Salford bnp. That is a fact, they went to a peaceful rally to cause trouble, i think they got off lightly.

How did they get off lightly?

What could have happened?

You claim the UAF are hypocrites, I dare say they are but the EDL are fascists.

Now, I've been a bit of a hypocrite from time to time as has everyone I have ever known. I've never been a fascist though.

I DO think that some members of the EDL are fascist and they are not right minded people.

But the way these tossers follow the EDL around like lapdogs preventing them from spreading their word is also worthy of disdain.

You're perfectly within your rights to be a hypocrite as long as you don't use violence to support that hypocrisy. The UAF are not holier than thou and they should allow the English public the right to make their own decisions without them policing it.

Most English people would shrug and mutter "nutters" in my opinion.

I think that if somebody comes looking for trouble, and they get what they came for ,but come off worse. Then i have no problem with that. I think even you will agree that the people on the UAF rally do not look like they are spoiling for a fight. Women wearing alice bands and yellow jackets not really a threat are they. Oh and you mention about the british public making up there own minds, don`t you think that the UAF members are the british public?
If you trawl through YOUTUBE clips from the last time the fascist edl came to Manchester, you will find the same bnp/edl member doing exactley the same thing then. Please don`t attack decent people who oppose racism and fascism.

Most English people don't really care for the EDL either.

You seem to be focussing on the far lesser of the two evils.

EDL and the UAF both have their own manifestos, which they are entitled to. However I think people find it easier to have sympathy with the UAF as their manifesto is actually based in some logic, reason and humanity.

EDL Manifesto (taken from their website):

(1) HUMAN RIGHTS: Protecting And Promoting Human Rights
Wikipedia detailing human rights, although human rights are something that vary by region. I'd like a view of when peoples rights where being appreciated during that march.

(2) DEMOCRACY AND THE RULE OF LAW: Promoting Democracy And The Rule Of Law By Opposing Sharia
A few stories from a news paper, something you read on the internet or what your mate in the pub tells you is not how you come to the conclusion that Sharia law is now a common method used to decide peoples fate. You use census, studies, conviction rates for such acts etc...

(3) PUBLIC EDUCATION: Ensuring That The Public Get A Balanced Picture Of Islam
Ties in with the same point above, just because the Daily Mail says that Islam is bad is not how you should reach the decision that Islam is some kind of evil.

(4) RESPECTING TRADITION: Promoting The Traditions And Culture Of England While At The Same Time Being Open To Embrace The Best That Other Cultures Can Offer
What tradition is that? We are a continually evolving species, our forefathers were from all over. Shouldn't we go back to the Catholic church if that's the case? Because Henry VIII decided we needed the Church of England so he could have divorces?

(5) INTERNATIONAL OUTLOOK: Working In Solidarity With Others Around The World
It would be nice if this was the case and this is something we're currently working towards. However a group of people who don't even look to studies and rational to construct their manifesto are not the group of people you want involved with helping countries working together.

UAF

Campaign against groups who aren't making rational, logical and humanist decisions. They don't cover themselves in glory when they're willing to resort to violence. This is why I believe people find it easier to sympathise with the UAF as they are fighting for equality.

There's my few cents ;)

I would rather have the likes of the EDL in the public eye than being banned and driven underground. The only attention they get is from the lot who turn up to oppose them. Its a bad path to go down by denying someone free speech it only results in bombs and bullets.
