i'd prefer them to join up if they wanna defend England.
Still don't understand defence from within do you? They are not demonstrating against an armed (perceived) foreign threat from outside our boarders.
And you still don't uinderstand that the armed forces are active in the UK on a daily basis in the fight against extremism within our boarders (sic). They could even join the police.
What if they have a happy family life here in England and a decent job.
Then what the fuck are they protesting against.
What if they do not want to spend 6 months abroad.
What if they don't want to get shot at?
My point exactly. They're quite happy to march about in gangs with their mates hurling abuse at women and kids but don't have the balls to put themselves in a position where they might get hurt.
What if they want to be law abiding but highlight the wrongs of religeous extremism in the UK and show that the country will not give in to those demanding Sharia Law here?
No problem at all with civilised protests, standing as a local councillor or writing letters
How would joining up and going off to Afghanistan or Burma help that?
What, you mean eradicating the training camps that British extremists go to for training. I know it's a silly idea to deal with them there when we could just wait til they come back to the UK....
As I have stated earlier in the thread, "join up if you wanna defend England" is often used as a handy stick to beat the EDL with. But it is both ill-advised and over simplistic.
See above
Please desist, it just shows you haven't a clue what you are talking about.
No
I can also say all this despite my stated thought that UAF, EDL and religeous extremists are all arseholes.
fully agree
