An effigy of Carlos Tevez was burnt near Manchester City's stadium on Monday night as the backlash continues against the star.
The rebel striker - who is currently banned for refusing to come on as a substitute in last week's defeat at Bayern Munich - has flown back to Argentina after talks with the club's hierachy.

But he will not be heartened by the reaction to his antics - with the burning effigy, hung under a canal bridge close to the Etihad Stadium, the latest episode since his incredible snub to manager Roberto Mancini in Germany.

It is not yet known if City fans were responsible for the incident.

Tevez's future at City hangs in the balance after he was interviewed at his Cheshire home on Monday over allegations that he refused to play in last week’s Champions League tie against Bayern Munich.
