Did anyone watch the Liverpool match?

Seems to be some kerfuffle (read moaning) about whether a Chelsea player was offside for the first goal - the only clip I've seen suggested it was too close to tell, but a couple of others were in offside positions, but were not interfering. I understand VAR was involved to some degree, but not whether the ref Friend went to look himself.

Was Sturridge offside for the Liverpool goal? Was VAR used? Did Sky zero in on that more/less than the Chelsea goal?

Ta - not even a word in the ref's ear? Presumably VAR look at everything anyway and tell him. The only clip of that I've seen doesn't make it look a clear error either.

I couldn’t tell you if either goal should have stood or not as I listened to it on the radio.
However when Liverpool scored it was given immediately with no hiatus in play. Unlike with the equaliser where it was given and then there was a considerable delay before it was finally confirmed.
Yet those who watched it said both goals were close to being as offside as one another

Does anyone care about the League Cup?

I like it because it gives the likes of Foden, Diaz and the bench a good run out but other than that I’m no longer bothered.

I love it. Great memories. First trip to Wembley 74. The 76 run, beating United 4-0 (Buchan you twat), Boro 2nd leg in Semi at home, and then the final and that goal by Tueart. Goal of the century at the time, probably because no-one had scored like that before. Yup, love the league cup.

I've seen a still VAR snap with those imaginary lines on, showing Barkley 's left foot defo offside against Firminho. Absolutely delighted with that. How does that feel Mr. Scouser?

+1. Yep and ‘the mud bath’ in ‘70. Always good to get silverware in the cupboard before Easter - especially when it’s joined by more in May!

Make it limited to EFL clubs, ie the Championship and below.
No place in the Thursday Cup for the winners.
