EFL Cup Games 25/26 Sept

That is a sad post there fella - You are obviously a JCL as any long standing blue would be grateful to win any silverware.

It's not a mentality I understand.

It's a trophy. Whether people think its Mickey mouse or not, it's their to be won and I'm glad we have taken it as seriously as we have. Its giving opportunity to the younger players and squad players and you can see how keen they are for it. Its extra games for them and a chance to actually win something. Its bread and butter stuff. A trophy we should always want to win.

totally agree and it develops a winners mentality

Agree, teams that think they can pick and choose a pot win nothing usually.

There is a mentality of this in our fan base, unfortunately it's just a by product of our success as we gain new fans.

It's a separate issue but if the club continue to price out our core, loyal support, it's something which is only going to grow.

As a long standing blue who has been a part of the shite in years gone by, I'll always take any trophy and be grateful for it.

From Mike Doyle to David Silva, I've been there for every League Cup Final goal, and enjoyed every moment of it, even the defeat against Wolves.
A great day (and night) out, and winning a trophy at Wembley.
It doesn't get better than that.
A Michael Rodent trophy - look on the list of honours of ANY of the winners of it, and it will be there, part of their 'istree.

Did anyone watch the Liverpool match?

Seems to be some kerfuffle (read moaning) about whether a Chelsea player was offside for the first goal - the only clip I've seen suggested it was too close to tell, but a couple of others were in offside positions, but were not interfering. I understand VAR was involved to some degree, but not whether the ref Friend went to look himself.

Was Sturridge offside for the Liverpool goal? Was VAR used? Did Sky zero in on that more/less than the Chelsea goal?

It was borderline, but it didn't fall into the "clear and obvious error" category.

I'm not entirely sure what the ruling is on a set piece like that. Chelsea had 2 players clearly offside. You could argue non of them were interfering until they actually make contact with the football. That's what happened so I'll assume that is the written rule.

The only contact was from whichever Chelsea player wasnt offside, so it's a legit goal I think.

It's just yet more pointless noise coming out of klanfield

That's my understanding - you have to distract/block an opponent, not just be standing somewhere.
I haven't heard/read anything from the club, it's more likely the twitter hordes.
