EFL Thread | 2024/25

I have the dubious pleasure of working for a couple of weeks in Immingham and so went to see Grimsby versus Lincoln in the EFL Trophy last night. I have not seen much lower league stuff since my lad was playing kids football and we used to get cheap tickets for Cheltenham Town. That was about 15 years ago and the standard was pretty woeful so I was not too hopeful for an enjoyable game.

I was actually pleasantly surprised surprised as both teams tried to play good football although there were a lot of misplaced passes. Grimsby had a great move on 25 minutes with the ball be passed effectively and then crossed only for their left sided attacker to spoon what should have been an easy chance over the bar.

Lincoln played with a high line and their keeper - Wickens who started at Fulham - pushed quite far out and was involved in the build up play.

Grimsby scored first but Lincoln soon equalised and then won in in the 94th minute with a great shot from outside the box denying the crowd the anticipated penalty shootout.

It seems that the "Pep effect" has filtered down the league and made football more enjoyable.

I see Bailey Cadamarteri on loan from us equalised for Lincoln, what did he look like?

He looked ok for the level but not much more than that. He should probably have scored in the first half but hit the post. He did score a very good header from a free kick.

His younger brother is 14 and playing with the U18's, he supposed to be really good and lots of clubs higher up the food chain interested.

Wouldn't be suprised if he's taken from us in the next 12-18 months

Fuck off Wilder, and take your team of wankers with you.
Very weird game, no team particular had it over the other. Leeds were lucky with that set piece and then it looked like sheff utd felt deflated. But before the first goal, I thought sheff utd were playing well and they were going to get something.

3 wins on the trot for us lot so bring on the title :)
In all honesty last 2 performances we have looked ok but it really is a terrible league this season so no excuses if we aint in the top 7 come May.

Big game next Saturday against Doncaster which should be hitting the 20k mark ............i mean 20k at this level and you wonder why we get so fooked off when we can pull that level of support in

3 points off the top after roughly a third of the season. Things are looking good at the moment. I'm assuming that Graham Alexander is very popular among the Bantams' fanbase. Cheltenham in midweek, then the biggie next weekend. Minimum 4 pts from those games?

Think hes popular because a fair few are waking up and realising that the manager aint the issue its whats going off at the top.
Would love 4 points but if we get 3 midweek then it really does set itup for a big oldderby game
