Elano

better on the right.

plus on the right (natural position) elano can get in the middle(his natural position)

and im not sure about you...but id rather have elano on than that lump of shite that begins with a v.

I'd say he's talkings absolute bollox. Elano was one of our best players last season and he still is. The problem is Elano its Hughes who can't fit him into to the team. I am more than convinced any half descent manager could sort its out there.

Where would you play him then?

At home I would play him in the middle with swp back on the right
Away Id play robinho centre with a defensive mid coming in for Jo

Some people have very short memories, he was a messiah this time last season and now he can "pass a bit from time to time". Perhpas we can ressurect this thread in February and see what the situation is.

that's his problem though, i don't think he's handled not being the shining star this year.

is there still room for him at city? of course. he needs to accept that he's no longer the main headline maker though.

Agreed, some thought he was shite from January 2008 and now think he is wonderful. ;-)

Truth is though that many on here are seeing this from a player on player comparison. There is no doubt that Elano is much more talented than Vass but this is a team game. And those factors need to be taken onboard.

Billy alludes to inside info that says that Elano is a bad influence. I have no idea if that is true, but if it is then Hughes is right. There is a bigger picture here.

I've seen nothing from Elano to suggest he needs to be centre of attention, he was in the wilderness in the Ukraine for long enough, he seems pretty humble to me!

What i do see is a guy with immense passion and self pride to excel at everything he does. Henry was a player that demanded he be centre of attention, he was the man that everyone must adorn to be... it worked pretty well for Arsenal and although i didn't think this is the case here, it shows that those sort of players can have a role in the team.

We've not got a good enough first XI, yet alone squad to just be dropping players with the skill of Elano without explination, and the reason he never got one is most likely becasue there is isn't a an acceptable one.

Just allowing SWP to play wide right should be enough reason let alone a guy who has 3 goals and 3 assists already this season out of position and in and out of the team.

I'm not saying keep Elano happy above the team becaaue i don't think thats the case, if Hughes just showed his confidence in him and let him go out and play i'm sure the whole team would benefit.

Have to say that I totally agree with that

Hmmm I dunno, I can see both sides of the argument and will take the positives whatever happens. On the one hand he is a very talented player, on the other hand his attitude leaves a lot to be desaired and on the whole he's been under par for a long time, I also think his attitude was questionable even before HUghes, and he's been lucky not to get sent off once or twice after committing quite a few petulant challenges.

If he goes in Jan I'll look at the positive and see that Hughes is trying to build a team of players willing to put a shift in (like SWP, Ireland etc), although personally I think Elano's talented enough to be worth persisting with beyond January just yet
