First half he was brilliant, second half he was really good, last 15 minutes he let himself down a bit a made about 6 awful passes but you could see what he brings to the team, he has to start sunday
that must make at least 11 awful passes then!

F&CK me 6 awful passes when we are 5-1 and you're having a blinder flog him and bring back Vassel all is forgiven

I'd expect Elano to have made in excess of 50 passes today, so even 10 misplaced ones give him a pass percentage of 80%, generally considered in the upper echelons of the league.

But some have decided he can't pass, and will use every misplaced pass as further proof of that.

give him a run of games and watch how good he will be, he will be as good as robi and ireland and SWP if we play him enough! Lets hope hughs can have the balls now to admit that elano is classs and give him a run plz for citys sake oh btw losing elano will probably lose us robi as well which aint gr8 is it?
all the players were class today

Oracle. Are you hanging out the back of Richard Dunne tonight?

Class always prevails, well pleased for him, him and Ireland played well together in centre and their forward passing was great, Elano especially puts the ball in areas where our attackers are facing goal and have a chance, Ive seen too many games this year where he hasnt played and we only ever give our lads the ball when they are facing the wrong way. Olive branch, lack of options, whatever I dont care he just needs to play especially when we are at home.

I was wondering when one of you Elano cheerleaders would resort to that
Are the lot of you queuing up behind him or summat?

I just call it like I see it
If Elano improves on that performance against Blackburn then everything in the garden is rosy.
Not yet though.

I wasn't having a go at elano, i was saying he played a few bad passes near the end, today he was one of the main reasons we won,

He is a luxury when you consider the other players in the team. A better team would have had 3 against us today, he will not play away on Sunday (unless Robinho is left out).

Did you watch the match today? He was fantastic and is certainly not a luxury.

Elano can't win, even when he plays well and runs his arse out, all we here from the hughes bummers is:

"Elano is a luxury, lazy and can't pass water"

A better team might have put three passed us but that would not have been down to Elano.

In my eyes Richard Dunne has been far more of a liability than elano this season.

Picking out Elano is pretty fucking low if you ask me.

Elano was a star performer today and all you do is put a downer on it.

We were wide open. The balance of the team was wrong but we got away with it.

We need to play a more defensive midfielder or we will get spanked.

I am someone who is backing Hughes (though at times its not easy) and I want Elano to do well because if he is then the team is prospering and Hughes is deemed to be doing a good job.

All that I ask is that Elano is more consistent. He played well today now he needs to follow it up at Blackburn.

And yes as I've already stated that applies to all the players.

Agreed. Both Elano and Ireland tracked back all game great performance from both.

A "luxury player"?? When did that happen today? He was an excellent outlet for tight spots. Didn't see that as a luxury. Saw the quick release for the more attacking of our team. Didn't see that as a luxury. He ran. Alot. Helped Ball out, kept things simple. Didn't see as a luxury.

I don't know what you what from him!

I did not mention his performance.

I said teh balance of the side was wrong, and we only just got away with it.

You can't play 4 attacking midfielders in every match, and who can be left out? SWP, Ireland, Robinho or Elano?

For me it can only be Elano.

Funny that. Can you name me a team, in the top four, that plays with defensive mids, please?? As usually they'll play with DM and a CM/ AM.
