Electric cars

We looked at all options and a plus-in hybrid worked out to be our best option. Can do 95% of our journeys on electric and for the occasional longer journeys a mix of electric and petrol.
Yes, the plug-in hybid is a different beast of course. I was generalising about hybrids which normally don't offer that ability, just using a battery to grab a bit of wasted energy and then re-using it later.

But you also get a front boot so surely that negates the loss of space?
You certainly don't get a front boot in the Nissan leaf. It's full of a huge inverter, electronics and the drive mechanisms. No more space than a conventional car.

Tesla Model Y next on my shopping list... I've been impressed with the Jaguar ePace Diesel we have which gives an indicated 62mpg at legal speeds on the motorway with no AC but I drove a BMW i3s as a company car for 18 months and always said I'd have another EV as long as it had decent range.... The fuel prices and the fact that we're due to become grandparents in December (two sons will be in Stafford by then when the eldest lad moves back) mean that an EV will be ideal when we're up and down between Hawarden and Stafford

probs be full of minor things like window washer reservoir - brake master cylinder and fluid reservoir plus steering and suspension components - looks like could be an MG estate and if you see this review there is no mention that there is a boot up front - or Frunk as they can be known.

If you look at a lot of cars that are rear engined the front boot is taken up mostly with the stuff that being a car needs and EV's will be no different

Mine isn’t full of anything. I choose to keep the charging cable in the back boot because I’m lazy but if I ever did a big trip in the car with loads of luggage I’d just put it in the front boot. Never been an issue for me.

EV public charging network seems more of a mess than ever - struggling under the pressure of ever-increasing EV's and hybrids on the road (including taxis and delivery vans for example). Some serious investment needed and soon.

It actually is. Especially as it's rammed down our throats (literally) that diesel particulates are really bad for our health, and yet we believe that the switch to EV's will help clean thing up when that isn't the reality of the situation.
Diesel particulates are carcinogenic.
If you lived on a busy highway full of trucks and buses, do you not think that's your health and in particular your lungs would be better off without the fumes ?
