I don't bother isolating anything, get a right buzz off things blowing up in face.
 
I was decommissioning an instrument in the old kodak building in north london years ago.

"This three phase off mate?"

"Yeah should be"

It blew a set of draper cable cutters clean in two.

Recommend anyone on here to buy voltage testers, because by the looks of it, no fucker checks for dead.

No reason not to have a live checker these days.
