My mate was kicked out today for smoking.......an electronic cigarette.

He has now been told he has a 3 game ban as well

Since when has trying to give up smoking been a punishable offence. And since when have electronic cigarettes been illegal to smoke inside?

Sometimes the club really do baffle me. If they are banned fair enough but at least have signs alongside the no smoking signs advising as such

Many places have banned them indoors or on their premises.

It is shit but he should have had the nouse to ask first to, just to avoid the possibility of this happening.

The club have made it clear that you can't use electronic cigarettes either, strange but they do make it obvious.

Where do they make it obvious? Surely a simple you can't smoke that in here would have sufficed?

It's said before every game (yes, even about electronic cigarettes). It's his own fault.

I got told off by the stewards during the Spurs game, and told not to use it, but not kicked out or banned. I wasn't aware that you couldn't use them in the ground either - where do the club make it obvious? Was he asked repeatedly to stop using it?

its deffo in the smoking un the ground policy. i checked as i use an e cig ...there has been threads in here too.

I think it's a little harsh

However for those desperate for some Nicotine there are plenty of products available such as chewing gum, inhalers, patches, lozenges that will see you through a game

He had a couple of drags and we were stood next to a steward. Next thing he was turfed out. No warnings or chances. To be fair to him he was a lot more restrained that I would have been and just went with them as well.

He has to write to Peter Fletcher so hopefully the club will rescind the ban due to his co-operation.
