Eliaquim Mangala - now official

This has had stitch up written all over it from day 1 ... Managala's agent Mendes is a bit of a c*nt, he happens to be the agent of Mourinho who is one of the biggest c*nts in football, so I'm sure the two of them will have spoken with regards to Mangala, City and some sneaky c*nts skullduggery!!! ...... Plus player has never been sold on coming to us by all accounts. I wish we had gone balls in for Benatia and left this one well alone but City chiefs are obviously convinced he's perfect long-term for our style of play ..... We could end up looking a bit stupid if he goes to Chelsea, Moanrinho loves dealing that kind of psycological blow to rivals ....

Paranoia or not, the longer it drags on without sign of resolution, the weaker our position will be if we end up needing to look elsewhere. What do you think Roma will be asking for Benatia come August?

Right, bit of egg on my face here. The player himself was not shown around the house. His mother and an interpreter were. They want the house IF he signs but it is not 100% at this time.

My wife's looking round if this afternoon using the same excuse. Although at 43 with a dodgy ankle, I don't see me passing the medical.

Scrap that, of course I'll pass our medical.

I don't partake in the second hand info stuff but since everyone is getting involved, an American who attended the game yesterday told me two members of City's "athletic training staff" (coaches?) told him in the dinner suites that Mangala was already signed.

Let's hope that pans out. And yes, we often use terms like "athletic training staff" when generalizing part of the coaching staff. ;)

City must think very highly of Mangala a player who does not appear to feel the same way about City!! - Benatia seemed very keen to come to us a few weeks ago - now we have likely pissed him and Roma off with our 'back up plan' and it might be very dufficult to sign Benatia now. City chiefs better pull this Mangala deal off and he'better turn out to be a top class CB partner for Vinnie otherwise massive egg on face!!

I think Roma are quite happy to keep one of their best players and Benatia wanted the money he felt was owed to him. They look to be starting negotiations at this point to do just that.

Not sure. Never been on a tour. I would think that would be an unpaid intern or a PR person at most.

It would seem from things posted yesterday that the hold up is his agent who is with the family of another player who has had a bereavement ,, according to trusted posters it is done , just waiting on this??
