I suspect (given the 'leaked' footage) if he signed for anyone else this would be one of the worst PR disasters in the history of football, happy to be corrected though.

Ha ha, that's just a perception. I recall Brian Clough at Forest proudly displaying his new £225,000 signing Ian Storey Moore who was promptly poached by United, Michael Knighton, the new owner of Manchester United doing ball tricks in front of an adoring Stretford End only to be exposed as someone without a pot to p*ss in. On a personal level Odemwinge driving to sign for QPR last year didn't do him any PR favours. There have been plenty worse over the years.

Given the professionalism of City these days I doubt there's an issue.

Will sign tomorrow (joke, just speculating)

It would be up there as one of the most embarrassing debacles in Man City history if we don't sign him now!!

Off the top of my head, Peter Reid's sacking by John Maddocks, Steve Lomas taking the ball into the corner, Steve Coppell's 33 days, the pitch invasion in '93 v Spurs, pretty much anything associated with Shinawatra, Beanie the Horse, Alan Ball saying he enjoyed Liverpool thrashing us 6-0, Alan Ball in general, Keegan's fawning over Willy Mackay, Joey Barton putting a cigar out on James Tandy (among other incidents), Frank Clark finding about his sacking on the radio, Keegan's comments about Negouai, John Bond jumping from the directors box after we beat Norwich in the cup, the pitch invasion v Notts County in '85, Peter Swales offering Joe Royle the job on TV when he was Oldham manager only for him to turn it down - all spring to mind as examples of things that would induce far more embarrassment than this episode in blues who are easily disposed to that emotion.

Not even close.

Harry Bassett accepting the job then waking up the following morning screaming into his pillow and turning us down. Snubbed by Bassett. That was probably my personal low to that point and we carried on sliding from there

Good one. You could also add George Graham prick teasing us, before plumping for Leeds United. That sounds almost comical today.

that's brought back memories, what a day that was

being herded like cattle by the police, shocking 1st half performance, with the shouts of a plank of wood would be better than geoff lomax.
the pitch invasion followed by the "we want football" chant.
the fightback to 3-2
and then loons wrecking the train on the way home
city in the 80's
