Personally, I'm less concerned about him signing and more concerned about the fact we have been incapable of getting this deal done even after 7months of talks.....3rd party or not.....City knew the terms and still haven't got this locked down..I think City have been busy doing New York City contracts and came back to the table late....meaning less time to sort out the small details, like 3rd party owners!!!!!....The kid could have and should have been in the squad sooner and some where down the line City have messed up.....Makes me laugh when I now read "we did our business early"....clearly we decided who we wanted early but as for getting our business done early.......we are way off the mark! imho!!;)

You come across as a bit of a kid yourself......

This is a close second for the coveted "Flap of the Year" award, which I have awaded Popey for this fine effort in the Arse V City thread

"Im not looking forward to this game - I think we will lose - and strangely im not very positive about the season either !
Lindow Man will get the rags playing so I see a top 3 place nailed on for them, chelsea have bought some amazing players, arse have a true destroyer in sanchez, liverpool - well i hope they do a utd like last season tbh, Everton have strenghtened..

I know we have an amazing team and im really happy about our signings but.. i dunno really my only concern is that we havent signed a "bomb" of a player, someone who can shake things up and cause instant damage i.e. sanchez.
I just think a big player coming in gets everyone excited including the players.

Well we'll see, probably just the old skool negative City fan in me coming out!

Come on MCFC!

Maybe a thread title there " The Mighty Flappers" The Flapper of the Year" if someone can make it happen and then we can look back next May and have a chuckle.

Going off the 560+ pages on this thread I'm not the only one that has concerns in the way we've handled this deal...so please, try to keep your replies in a adult and respectful manner....if your capable! Crazy how some cant handle a true adult discussion about the team we love....

Are you for real? Mangala whilst apparently a very good talent and highly rated throughout Europe was never ever going to start the first few games.
MDM & Kompany formed an excellent partnership towards the end of last season. MDM was arguably our most impressive defensive player in the run in.

You think City, Pellegrini would rush a deal through to sign a player we don't immediately need? Mangala even if he'd signed on June the first wouldn't have started a game until mid September anyway due to our very tricky start.

Delaying the transfer, may not be ideal, but it certainly buys us time. I would imagine a £30 million defender would want to play week in week out. I personally wouldn't drop MDM for many if his form continues.

A delay in the transfer suits City & the team much more than it does anyone else.

Bet your life if MDM or Kompany returned injured or unfit from the World Cup Managala or alternative would have been signed instantly.

You seem to imply the club don't know what they are doing...

we must know what we're doing, we're champions!!!;) but I just feel that we are sometimes being naïve as fans if we don't think that sometimes we could have done things better/quicker during this transfer window....every time someone questions a move City made, that person gets jumped on for voicing his opinions......when the Chairman said "we completed our business during the season"...clearly we didn't or this deal would have been completed long ago.....don't understand what is so wrong in highlighting that contract talks with Mangala haven't gone smoothly...

There is only one team in Manchester, right?!;) Nothing wrong in taking our rose coloured glasses off now and again and seeing where improvement can be made.....cant believe so many think its normal to have a 7-8month contract negotiation.....

Obviously it's not normal, so there must be a reason that it's taking longer. The club have proved they can get transfers done quickly so the complications are obviously outside the clubs control, we couldn't have a better team to sort out those complications and get the deal over the line.

It's not normal to spend as much time on here as you do flapping like fuck....

Will you be watching the game tomorrow or posting nonsense on this forum ?

Re: Eliaquim Mangala

I have to say it has been a surprise to many how long these negotiations have lasted but like all things in life surely the important thing is that the deal is concluded. For me as long as he is a City player before the start of the season the wait etc is immaterial and if nothing at least this thread has provided some entertainment during what seems a very long close season. The joys of the matchday thread will soon be upon us and may replace the negativity shown in this thread. :-)
