I didn't think he looked anywhere near a 30 odd million pound player last night I know its only one game but we could get Koscielny for a lot less and he is a proven EPL player and at the moment IMO one of the best centre backs in Europe. Plus he is capable of covering Zabaleta at right back which is a position we need cover don't want Richards to leave but his fitness issues worry me if Zabaleta to get an injury.

Having watched him on TV - hardly ideal I know but paying 30m plus for him will represent one hell of a risk.

Very much the latter,he's harmless though.

Cheers! I am hoping to be crowned ultimate Itk at some point this year. I mentioned very strongly pellegrini, frenandinio, pellegrini, Suarez Morrison and of course Richards going. If Suarez and Morrison and mangala sign I am going to be proven correct, if valdes signs too I am going to dance naked in the transfer forum.

I really cannot see the Arse fans taking it lightly(nor wenger) us signing him mate, especially having lived with the tag as our feeder club over the last few years.

I have watched him a few times now and I am not too sure.

Talented. Yes
Athletic. Definitely
Fast. Very quick
Potential. Bags of it

However , at the money Porto are after he represents a risk .
A risk we don't need to take.
We have to get this key partnership right , something we have failed to do for nearly 6 seasons now.
For me he is no 3 in a 4 man centre half squad.
We need a number 2 or a joint no 1 if at all possible.

Pepe would have been an excellent choice.
Ramos ,Hummels,Silva et al.

Not easy to fill at that level , but fill we must.

We must get this right.
