Sorry but I take issue with this since when has Mangala had his arse out threatening to take his bat and ball in etc. Under the circumstances he has behaved exceptionally well. Writing him off like this is plain wrong he could well be staying and be given a second chance.

Yeah fair cop, he hasn't had any fights in training and hasn't made a fuss to the media that's true, but he still isn't showing any interest in what the club want. Turning down a move to Moscow, I am 100% behind him - no way in hell I would go to live in Putinistan full stop and especially if I was a black man. Turns down a move to Stoke, alright I suppose I guess I can understand that but still more committed players like Zouma are trying to prove their worth there. Turns down a move to Palace, then I'm against him.

Its deadline day, he doesn't have any other options! Inter don't seem to give a toss either way, Palace are willing to make him one of their biggest ever transfers, showing how much they value him and that he'll get to play regular first team football. Turning that down just shows a lack of ambition, he wants to go somewhere where its warm and the football is easy. Plus I firmly believe he would have kicked up more of a fuss if his stock had been higher, like Denayer has done, Mangala just realises he still has to prove himself and showing an attitude problem as well isn't going to help him out.

Think from mangala's perspective for a minute. He came from porto, a club which is one of the title challenger there and plays in champion's league to city, another title challenger which plays in cl aswell and from city to go to clubs like stoke or palace is quiet a fall if you ask me. Going to inter might not have been in our best interest but would have been a logical move from mangala's perspective. Its not his fault that pep doesnt rates him, he looked good in preseason and majority of posters would prefer him to be given a chance then signing johnny evans. He would do well for managers like mourinio who dont think its essential their defenders should be playing from the back. On the sidenote his move to palace isnt of just yet

I bear him no ill will, but he's had chances. He's not only not taken the chances, he's consistently underwhelmed as far as I'm concerned. I honestly don't care about his behavior unless it translates to on-pitch performance.

Maybe the team he wants to play for is City, people assume he just wants to sit back and take a lump of cash and is just greedy but I can understand why he may not want to be at a club that only has ambition to stay mid table. Will going to Palace get his international place for the world cup should they go down?
Perhaps Pep is being honest with him and he knows he is not in his first eleven but he has made the bench in all three games and feels he might just get a break.
I think this is one player I will be disappointed to see City move on which may happen and the cash plus extra used to bring Jonny Evans to take his place as cover, you may need that cover the way the refs are booking our players.
I also think he has conducted himself as professionally as possible and the only thing I have read is he the one where he was positive about Pep and his desire to stay, learn and fight for his place.

What chances has he had? As far as I am concerned Mangala has always put in a 7/10 performance. His first game against Chelsea was a 10/10 totally destroyed Costa. I dont think Stones or Otamendi have ever bossed a strong tall defender like Mangala did when he was up against Costa. Pep just doesn't rate him. That's all there is to it.

Yes, he had one good game and after that it was easy to see that if you don't have your forward pretend to be a battering ram trying to physically batter him, he's a non-factor at best. His positioning is poor. His reading of the game is worse. He's suited to sitting almost on top of his keeper and hammering the ball 70 yards when it gets near him.

But he does have a lot of physicality. Sure.

Mangala had a great game in his last match, the friendly against Girona, one of our best players. I think part of his difficulty is psychological, given the right manager and suitable playing style at a club he could really flourish. He's a beast.

Sad thing is that 99% of us could see that after 2/3 games.....as for our scouts.....

Not slating Mangala he has some qualities but he needs to find his level and rebuild his career. I think he'd do well at Palace with De Boer but can see why he'd think it was a step down but I do think he needs to be a bigger fish in a small pond and build some confidence. With the right coaching he could be a beast of a defender but he's never a Pep player but that doesn't make him a bad player. Remember when he was at Porto some people reacting badly to some comments Mangala was alleged to have made about preferring a move to London. Now he has his wish.
