I never thought we would recoup a penny on him, thought it was loans all the way to the expiration of his contract. To get £20m is fantastic.
 
Happy we got a good price but I hope he doesn't get stuck at QPR, I can see why he would want a team that at least plays in Europe to challenge for a place in the France national team having thought about it.

How can they afford him though when they aren't even in the PL?(almost forgot)

He's easily PL quality and they know it judging by what they've offered.
What have QPR got to do with anything??
 
Well, I would still rather have him than Johnny F. Evans. I think he would be great as 4th choice, he has always spoken highly of Pep, seems to want to learn and he would have been a good player against teams that just want to hoof the ball forward to a big strong lone striker.

But Pep did not rate him, and if he had to go, I am excited that we actually got a fee for him. The way things were playing out, it seemed like we were going to have to loan him (and bony, delph etc) out.
