As a Forest fan of being a season ticket holder for over 40 years I agree yesterday was not his best game. He was played around due to being out numbered and seemed rusty from having a break. Most Forest fans are accepting he is leaving and only 2 clubs which we would be happy to see him go to back to Newcastle his home town club or City.

Fair enough but every player raises their level playing with better players and a better manager? KDB had games where he was terrible and if they were the only games you watched then you would like he was shite? I`ve seen enough of him to know he is a cracking player that will only get better in a better squad and learning from Pep.

He's been one of the standout players this season for me - comfortably in the top 5.

He has carried that Forest side at times, and those two performances against us were probably the best I've seen from any Premier League player against us this season (aside from Fernandes at Old Trafford).

We've all seen how good Alex Scott has been for Bournemouth recently, but Anderson was the driving force for England's U21s at the Euros. When he came off, you could really feel the drop-off. The midfield just seemed to lose control and power. Top player.

I wouldn't get too caught up in average performances here and there - it's more about the overall profile he has (same with Khusanov). He's got the full package. Put him under Pep and you can easily see his level going up another notch.

The only real thing missing from Elliot Anderson's game right now is his output in front of goal. With the strike he's got and the drive/dribbling ability he has, he should be breaking forward and scoring more than he currently does. Same could be said with Fernandinho at one stage (until he improved and started to break forward and score more). It’s more about him getting into those positions consistently, and that's the area where he could really take his game to another level.

Just look at what Pep did with Gundo. At Dortmund, he was never really seen as a goalscoring midfielder, but under Pep that part of his game completely changed. He started arriving in the box at the right time and suddenly became a real threat in front of goal.

You have picked out Anderson main weakness is his goal scoring. He reminds me of a player that played for both clubs i grew up watching Ian Bowyer but has more technical ability but not his finishing skill.
 
This is a question not a statement, but is he an improvement on Nico G? If so does the quality gap warrant the price tag? Haven't really watched Forest aside from against us so don't have an opinion of my own.

He’s a different player to Nico G.

He’ll replace Bernado who is playing next to Rodri. Nico G is seen as an outright number 6 and Rodri backup by Pep.

Anderson is replacing Bernado in what you’d class as the number 8 role.

So in theory, if Rodri was unavailable and Nico G started, Anderson would be next to him and more box to box.

Different players, Gonzalez would play in rotation with Rodri, Anderson would play in Bernardo's position alongside.

We've been burned before going off a 1 season wonder performance where Kalvin peaked and we gave him a huge contract.

It does make sense to exercise caution and assess if the player can be that level sustainably or has possibly peaked.

But that's mostly Viana's job right??
