Elliot Anderson

I think Nico G is doing a good job considering Bernie’s legs are gone and we have makeshift full backs.

Not a knock on anyone though. How many times have we seen a City team click around now and go on a run.
I’d love to think that’s the case but at this point it feels more like wishful thinking that something that’s just around the corner. Like you say there’s a few players filling in and a one or two towards the end. Some legs and some power is what’s needed. Not sure if pep can find the answers int he squad he has but I wouldn’t put it past him.

Agree which is why I think we will look at players in Jan.

A mix of the last few seasons. But a couple of players in Jan and wait for other players to click.

We definitely need something - but we have some key pieces to work around. Pep has alluded to Phil playing in the middle and Cherki needs more game time again it’s finding his best position in this team. Semenyo definitely helps with rotating on the left and playing on the right meaning Foden can play centrally but we need a much better midfield if that’s going to happen. Maybe Tijjani will grow into it but we need someone to rotate with him.

Kov and Bernie are gone in the summer and as much as I rate them as players are looking a shell of their former self.

I wonder if the club have realised that not selling Savio was a mistake - I know everyone says we shouldn’t have sold Palmer but now the reluctance to sell players that aren’t good enough may bite us.

Maybe Bobb gets a loan I hope we don’t sell him.

So how does hes release clause work ?

I read that 50mil but it only activates if Nottingham Forest fail to qualify for Europe and only UCL clubs can trigger it.

Right now it is clear that Forrest won’t qualify for Europe and maybe we can sign him in January?

Release clause isn’t worth the paper it’s written on in Forests eyes.

I'd love for us to get Semenyo and Anderson in Jan and really go for the league. If Arsenal feel the pressure I still feel there's the potential for them to buckle down the home straight. Having said that though the chance of us signing both those players in Jan in slim to none and if we could only get one in in Jan then for me I'd rather Anderson. We're pretty good in attack but defensively we seem incapable on controlling games.

I remember early this season debating with someone on here whether Pep was moving to a more transitional team and I think last night is the perfect example of why we can't do that. We need to exert more control when in front in games because we don't have the midfield to run over teams. If we had a fully fit Rodri then that might be different but as it is I think we'll be lucky to have him available for half the remaining games this season

I've got a feeling we are going to try and bypass all the drama of trying to sign him after the world cup and just pay what's needed in January.

Can't imagine Forest would budge on it and they have the right to ask for whatever the feel he is worth to them - not what he's worth as a player alone. So it makes it easy for them to price us out. Christ, if Mahrez couldn't sulk enough for a January move then I doubt Anderson can! Haha.

It's a shame but it'll drag on until post World Cup IMO and by that point, his value could've rocketed. Unless this supposed release clause is true.

I'd love to see us go for him in January, but I would understand him not wanting to move in January with his World Cup place not locked in. On the other hand, it's not like he'll be fighting for minutes with Gonzalez or Rodri (if/when fit) in the second half of the season. He'll certainly play from day one whenever he joins, but wouldn't blame him if he doesn't want to change clubs in the context of the current season and the World Cup in the summer.

Would like to see this one. Bernardo and Kovacic likely gone next season. Rodri is an unknown right now. Oreilly, Nico, Anderson, Foden, Cherki and Reijnders gives us so many options and strength in depth across a load of positions over a good stretch of years too.

I will be surprised if it's £50m because i think they paid £40m for him. If there is a release clause we are probably looking at circa £75m

If there is a release clause within that vicinity but only available if Forest miss out on Europe, I think we end up testing the waters in January and offer them up £85m-£100m to get the deal done in January,

If we win the league or even CL, nobody will care if we paid £20m-£25m more than a summer release clause.
