Elliot Anderson

Genuine question as i havent seen loads of Anderson play. But could Nico O'Reilly possibly do the role people are touting for Anderson? Or are they totally different style players?

Better than both , Gonzalez and Bernardo
Raw numbers saying , same with eye test
It's impossible to say that until he actually plays for us, if he ever does.
I like him, and I'd prefer him to signing say Semenyo as I think it's a higher priority for the team.
There are plenty of intangibles for this one - not least squad space, and if Forest would entertain selling in Jan based on their precarious position.
Think if we're doing this Summer seems more likely (Edit: Rodri fitness situation should be clearer by then too)

He still gets about, runs like fuck but he gets knocked off the ball far more than he used to. Struggles against players who are faster and stronger than him where as a few years ago he didn’t lose the ball.
It's his decision making that has gone down the most imo. The guy's heart is massive and I've loved him over the years. But for a while now he is turning into trouble, dithering on the ball, not seeing great runs (but this is something epidemic in the squad and why Cherki is such a breath of fresh air), etc, etc. I would like to see Bernardo on the bench more often, i.e. still in the dressing room and coming in to close out games but letting a younger player develop in that critical midfield role.

I'm not sure there's a role O'Reilly can't fill but for the youth setup he was an attacking midfielder. At 6'3" or 6'4" he'd be an imposing figure alongside Rodri or Nico G, memories of Yaya rampaging through the middle.
