It’s quite clear that Trump is now busy repaying his debts to the tech Billionaires who paid for and allowed their tech to be used to get him back in the Whitehouse.

They are literally running the show.

The wealth thing is a byproduct of capitalism; there are plenty of billionaires who don't use their wealth for nefarious means.

Musk is a sinister, mentally unwell individual, and when Trump dies (hopefully soon) his influence should wane.

We’re not talking about ‘mere’ billionaires though. We are talking about someone whose net worth is more than the bottom 25% of the US population combined. There is world of difference between a billionaire and someone with Musk’s wealth, in terms of the power and influence they have and the extent it will fuck with their heads, especially when you own the most pervasive media platform on the planet. And that’s before you take into account Musk’s manifest mental health issues.

It is obscene, I agree. But the bottom line is many with untold wealth aren't wielding it the same way Musk is.

For instance, there's a difference between Zuckerberg knowing which side his bread is buttered and attending the inauguration, and Musk dropping hand grenades in federal departments. You may think I exaggerate, but I truly believe Musk is an evil person; he acts like a soulless cyborg. Which is basically what he is.

I would like to see rampant capitalism better regulated, but that's a debate for another thread.
 
He has sent out an email today to over 2m federal employees asking them to “explain in 5 bullets what they did last week”.

He’s tweeted saying non-response will be taken as resignation. Though the email doesn’t say that, and some employment lawyers have been quick to point out, you actually have to volunteer your resignation, you can’t be forced to resign - especially not for failing to respond to an email from somebody who isn’t your boss.

Total weapon.

Not sure that’s the case apart from Musk.
Looks very much like Zuckerberg and Bezos were simply hedging their bets and protecting their companies from a potential Trump vendetta.

The US has turned into a sort of gangster loyalist state. If you are an American company that is critical of Trump then you're history in terms of preference hence the subservience which is ironic given they bleat about free speech...

As for Musk previously I was a fan whilst he was harmless but that isn't the case anymore. He has become a very dangerous individual but more so because he is now blinded by his politics.

The biggest red flag for me is when he did an X live interview with Trump many months ago. Trump spouted a ton of complete nonsense about technology, climate change etc and Musk never corrected him. I was always of the opinion that Musk didn't tolerate bullshit or idiots but it seems with Trump he's part and parcel of both.

Some of us saw how appalling Musk was years ago. For me, it was the Thai cave rescue but I paid little attention to him prior to that.

I do t even know that it’s that so much that worries me — he is busy replacing experts in their fields with loyalists in government command and control positions, because he “learned the first time.”

Likewise. It was obvious at that point that he had a wanton, petulant streak especially when he didn’t get his own way. This should have set alarm bells ringing for anyone.
