Police called to the Zuckerberg home as complaints about loud laughter and fireworks going off tonight are disturbing the neighbourhood. Neighbours angry they had to actually make a phone call as they could not contact the Police via Twitter tonight.
 
Elon has a super ego. So whenever he comes up with a crazy idea, Twitter staff won't confront him because they won't risk getting fired.

Twitter is my favorite site because there are some great accounts I follow to see daily news, funny videos, etc. It's a good place if you stick to a couple of accounts. There's accounts for every subject.

Despite very often issues, Twitter continues to reach all-time highs because its interface is good and it's really easy to use (also, there's a lot of news happening, Ukraine, France, transfer window, etc) and their main competitors (Mastodon and Bluesky) are not as user-friendly, so Elon doesn't feel pressured at all and think he can do whenever he wants because Twitter will still be the best site in their category.

The good news is that Meta is currently working on a new Twitter competitor. Knowing how Zuckerberg works, he will probably create an exact copy of Twitter's interface (or very similar). I'm not a big fan of him, but Twitter needs a rival site to put pressure on them so Elon stops making dumb moves. Every time he messes up again, people will just move to the Meta site in large numbers.

In your quite mind, you can probably admit that in fact, you use it exactly as much as before.... more, if you count using it to keep up to date with this drama?

No - tonights drama is Uber funny - Musk sacks all the specialist staff then gets himself in a situation where his $44bn (when he bought it) platform is like a runaway diesel engine and he has no-one to hand who can fix it - your post may well be accurate in part but its funny as fuck to monitor him rolling back bit by bit on what he thought he was on to a winning formula

The Media thread in the main forum is one. That’s a thread I’ll never get my head around. It’s free promoting of anti-City tripe from people who say it’s a disgrace yet they search for it all high-and-low to post in that thread.

The GBNews thread in the politics forum is another. I don’t know a single person who watches GBNews in real life. But on here there’s a 200+ page thread on it, posted in by people who say they hate it but clearly watch it all day every day.

Do you not think it’s a good idea to know about the sorts of things our rivals will throw at us?
Similarly, although I have never watched more than a minute of GBeebies it’s useful to know the sorts of shite they’re trying to indoctrinate the gullible with. If people post tweets and content from them on that thread it means I know what’s going on without having to actually watch the drivel.

Personally not paying for a free app, Musk has said it’s temporary but if it’s permanent then I reckon it’s the beginning of the end for it. Such a pointless, greedy change. He’s managed to change an easy-to-use, free app into this within a year. Impressive really.
