It's very complicated.

Objectively, we are all much better off than we were in the 1960s. Even basic rate pensioners and penniless farmers.

OTOH, real wages have barely increased in a decade and people feel squeezed, not least by obscene housing costs.

I can't complain personally as I am quite well-off. But I can understand how many feel they are struggling against impossible odds.

The point I'm making is the yanks didn't just vote for Trump because of lies and misinformation, sure that probably paid a part but it's was more to do with economy along with other things such as Biden being seen by many as too old and incompetent and Harris not being competent plus an element of sexcism.

We are not that far apart, I want the best for our country and that involves inclusive middle of the road politicians at the helm. I am for appropriate taxation but, imo however that didn't happen in the last budget. Yet again a Chancellor taxed the SMEs the hardest while letting the biggest corporations get away without paying their fair share ans that includes the big US IT based companies like Twitter, Google Facebook, Ebay Apple etc.

I recall when we started our business 20 years ago the first few years were a struggle, I recall one year we were struggling to pay our corporation tax bill and balance all our other outgoings at the time our corp tax was about £7k , but we paid it as you do. Then a few weeks later I read that face book had just paid their UK corporation tax bill of £5k!! While at the same time opening a 250,000sqft office in central london!

I do differ somewhat in that I believe we as a country are not as you state fucked. Areas for improvement sure but we still have many positives to take as residents of the UK.

I'd be in favour of the UK banning Twitter now. I came off of it during the election when he went full right wing loony.

He's using it for his own political propaganda and is now threatening our national security.

Personally hoping that big businesses in this country get together and fuck it off, that'd be a start. I know some have already.

This would get my vote, I don't do twitter but I loathe the idea of him interfering with our political system.

This is what I got. Think the ai has read "us" as mcfc because it isn't capitalised and it's using your twitter post and follow history.

This is my result. I don't post or follow anything.

AI generally does very poorly in matching it up to what you mean when the source materials aren't so common. The better a celebrity is known, the better the likeness because it has lots to work with and fine tune. It might have worked out that Bill is Ginger or just that 50% of cats on the Internet are ginger.
