I was reading an article yesterday outlining that it’s not really about Greenland, but about undermining Denmark as they’re the antithesis of MAGA.

It did make some logical sense, but the minerals in Greenland make as much sense.

Trump has a number of idiotic ideas that he keeps circling back to. He likes to raise them as it keeps the news agenda moving forward. Doesn't want people reflecting on the fact he is a felon and a rapist. There will be some other BS next week, and the week after that.

How's that promise to end the war in Ukraine within 24hours looking?

The Trump / musk dynamic is interesting. Trump pisses people off and gets pissed off himself. Musk is 100% on the train but how long will they tolerate each other. And if they do fall out, how powerful a weapon is twitter for political interference.

Trump will give Musk every power he wants, deregulate anything he wants so long as Musk backs Trump via social media platforms. It's a win win for them.

The significant issue here is Musk's Doge thing sounds great but will be a shit show in practice.

There might be some low hanging fruit but Trump/Musk will want much more and it will take hard work and competent people to make a dramatic change.

People forget that Trump did the absolute minimum in his 1st term. He played golf more than anything else. His tax policy was driven by the GOP and he just signed it. He did nothing himself towards anything. There is no one going to do anything for them here as its complicated and will inevitably cause massive issues. So any elected gop with half a brain will stay well clear.

Trump can just sign and executive order to make things happen but someone has to do the work to clean up the mess and that's where this will fail. There will be a mess and Trump always blames the mess on someone other than him.

Never underestimate the grift. Musk provides huge amounts of cash to Trump.

Musk also provides further cover to his authoritarian extremism by going ever further, and Trump enables Musk's narcissism.

Trump can shut down twitter if he chooses. Why do you think he had all the tech billionaires on the front row. Nicely set up to play them off against each other.
