Have they even managed to make the Optimus work as intended yet? Pretty much every Demo they have done seems to be human controlled robots pretending to be autonomous.
Last one saw a robot collapse and showed what looked like a motion of taking off a VR headset just before hand.
Seems to be miles behind the competition like Boston dynamics and unitree.
I have no real worries about Musk and robots. He's a bullshitter like Trump.
Most of his innovations have always been more hype than substance. He kinda "fakes it until he makes it".
So we have a bit more time until they take over.
I'm just off to watch i-Robot... :)

Got this through the post on Saturday. It's just come out in hardback, so thought it was worth a mention. Took a punt as there was a mispriced copy going for £7 online.
A couple of sample paragraphs (the authors are not admirers):
'Muskism sees the world as corrupted code. Empathy for one's fellow humans is an 'exploit' - a vulnerability in our mental software - manipulated by bad actors to push the West toward 'civilizational suicide'. 'Suicidal empathy is like an autoimmune disease', Musk says, 'the body attacks itself'.
If one face of Muskism is techno-sovereignty, the other is expulsion. Counter measures include purged social networks, ideologically cleansed AI models, and mass deportation of ethnic outsiders. The end goal is a purified community defined by cultural and genetic membership in a white, European West garrisoned by superior technology - a fortress to protect the best of humanity from the worst.'
Failed Gorton & Denton by-election candidate Matt Goodwin uses the phrase 'suicidal empathy' a lot too.
The original source of this shit idea is a morally repellent professor of marketing called Gad Saad.
So who to believe? Saad, or one of the greatest political philosophers of the last century?
