Elton John

He was brilliant at Glastonbury. A classic set.
We were on holiday in Portugal and for some reason I had managed to get absolutely shit faced at lunch time, then had a row with some daft twat rag from pie eating land about our treble meaning so much more - finally staggered back to the apartment and collapsed on the bed snoring away.
By the time I came round it was too late to go out for something to eat according to the GLW.
So we got a takeaway and watched that set.
You are spot on the show he put on was absolutely superb.
By the time it finished I was well back in the good books and we opened a bottle of wine. Cheers Reg!
Few days later we run into aforementioned gormless rag and she then preceded to make him look a right nobhead!

Personally i've always been a fan of his music, he's sang some great songs, and there have been plenty of them .......

I didn’t intend to mean that Elton and Bernie wrote all his hits. Clearly, they didn't. Apologies that you took it that way.
Sorry mate - I assumed you meant that when you mentioned him and Bernie in the same post. They were indeed brilliant around that period

Just finished reading "Watford Forever" (present from my daughter), which covers how Elton John got involved in Watford, saved them & how he & Graham Taylor worked together to get them to the top divison/Fa Cup final etc -found it a great read for any FOCs, proper old school football & covers Elton's first visits as a young kid, his relationship with his father & Watford. Some great stories from Watford players such as Sherwood, Blissett. John Barnes & an interesting background story re the Andy Gray cup final goal for Everton - very easy to read & a throw back to the old days before footballers were on crazy wages !
Nothing to do with City but an easy enjoyable read !

Or Song for Guy? Or Goodbye Yellow Brick Road? Or Bennie and the Jets? Or Pinball Wizard? Or Saturday Night's alright for fighting? Or, or, or, repeat ad nauseum. The guy (along with Bernie Taupin) is a genius.
Or ‘Don’t let the sun go down’, ‘Someone saved my life tonight’, ‘Tiny Dancer’, ‘Sartorial Eloquence’, ‘Philadelphia Freedom’, ‘The woman is back’, ‘Border Song’, ‘Island Girl’, ‘Can you feel the love tonight’, ‘Circle of Life’…
All great songs, without question.
