I think, if we are granted permission, we will get either Harper from Newcastle or Carson from West Brom as their season is finished

Interesting,

Be funny if we got either. Harper was understudy to Given for all those years and Carson used to play for Villa so he'd have a point to prove, also might try his best to make world cup squad.

Can't see them letting us,so its all set up for the big bearded man child to become our biggest goalkeeping cult hero since budgie burridge

So, a list of candidates?

James (Portsmouth)
Carson (WBA)
Harper (Newcastle)
Jensen (Burnley, lol)

Can't see the FA wearing this. Was it Ipswich who applied for an emergency loan earlier this season when Richard Wright was injured. FA turned it down because Ipswich still had two fit pro keepers on their books (one of whom was only 18).

Where's Arni Arason when you need him?

Indeed. A thereto zero who pulled off one of the best saves in the club's history when called upon.

If Taylor is back in training then he'll probably be demmed as fit enough to sit on the bench and so the Premier League will tell us to sling it.

Which is fair enough, in my opinion. We got ourselves into this ridiculous situation, so we'll just have to get ourselves out of it. I know we'd all be fuming if Gomes got injured for Spurs and 'Arry suddenly decided his backups weren't good enough.

You mean the game we lost in the last minute to a header that you could reasonably expect a top/experienced centre half to challenge for. Thanks for the example. Excellent for 94 minutes and one minor lapse costs us. Not his fault directly but he must take some responsibility as he was part of the back 4.

See the last Derby? 4 internationals went to sleep and gave away a free header.

Fair point. But come on - less experience and less quality = more risk. Anyway by making the application it appears Mancini et al agree we cant rely on Gunnar on such a major stage.
