Emergency keeper loan / Hart / Brum [All merged]

Re: Emergency keeper loan [Merged]

All this talk of David James could be a great tool in getting Joe to force the hand of Birmingham and come back to us.

Think about it.

Joe is firmly in Capello's mind for the World Cup. Some in the media have been speculating that he may even go to the WC as number 1 due to James injuries and Green's loss of form, so how would Joe feel if James comes to us, plays a blinder in BIG games and gets us to the Champions League? Capello would certainly be impressed and it may edge DJ ahead for the World Cup.

Just a theory, but if Joe seriously wants to go to the World Cup as number one then he NEEDS to come back to us. And lets face it, if he says he wants to it will happen.

Re: Emergency keeper loan [Merged]

That devious cnut David Gold has just been on SSN talking up a deal including 'financial compensation' for us to take back Hart. Apparently Brum have '4 places worth £3m at best to play for' and Maik Taylor 'could certainly come in and do a job'.

Re: Emergency keeper loan [Merged]

re Hart, we only have ourselves to blame. We should have stipulated that if anything like this copped up, we can recall Hart straight away. Its not Mcleish's or Brums fault, they have a deal with us to have Hart all season, and thats what they're sticking too. Put yourselves in their shoes. We are set for our best finish for years with a loanee in goal. The keeper's parent club needs him back and takes him, leaving us in the shit. We'd all be fuming as we'd need our 2nd choice keeper then for the last few games, totally upsetting the line up and team momentum in the process. Like I say though, if we'd just said 'yeah you can have Hart, but......' we wouldn't have an issue.

We should have insisted on a clause in the contract that says we can have him back should an emergency arise.

You cannot do that on a season long loan.

Isn't Gold at West Ham now? Sure he wasn't talking about it hypothetically?

Thought he was at West Ham now. What's it got to do with him?

Re: Emergency keeper loan [Merged]

Well it may as well be me talking up the deal, id have about as much influence at Birmingham.

We should just "guarantee" to make up any shortfall should they finish lower than 9th (their highest possible position). That plus a small bonus if Hart plays in all 3 games AND we get Champs League would be extremely compelling for them.

Lets remember, Birmingham are not without financial issues right now. They owe Seymour Pierce (Keith Harris et al) £2.2m and the MD resigned unexpectedly on Friday. I am strongly of the view, Joe Hart will be training with City tomorrow.
