Emily Thornberry

Made the point before - there’s simply no one in politics who can be generally well liked the closer they get to power.
Corbyn, May, Boris, JRM, Nicola Sturgeon, Nigel Farage, before these Nick Clegg, Cameron, Blair and Brown.
These are people with all different backgrounds, upbringing, education and political leanings. Yet. All hated by the majority.
There is simply no one, especially nowadays with social media who could win the public over, politicians in today’s world will always be labelled as ‘clueless’, ‘out of touch’ and ‘incompetent’ - that’s why it makes me laugh when people say if only Labour had someone better than Corbyn, yeh right.

I quite like Dennis Skinner. I doubt he’d change if he was moved upwards.

Mogg Clegg Cameron Blair farage are all fine compared to the others on fairness. Thornberry is a pillock.

OP you seem very angry about this lass, you brought her up in two other threads in a negative and now this.

Do you know her of something as she really doesn't register on the MPs to give much of a shite about, like barry gardener and matt hancock, you know about them, they have said headline making things, but not really worth getting worked up about.

Think she gives a pretty good interview more often than not to be honest. I usually find myself screaming for her to answer the question less than your average politician. If this the new target of the right Labour mustn't be in as bad shape as I thought.

A lot of truth in this I think. Very rare will someone be in the public eye for any length of time (as a politician) and not end up with some irrational hatred from one side or the other, or both. Remember that they only have to satisfy a majority of people in their constituency to stick around, even if they're completely backward fucking dinosaurs like Christopher Choppe.

Can't stand the woman, she's everything wrong with some of the modern Labour Party encapsulated in one package.
Snobbish, elitist, condescending and arrogant. Nothing she says every appears or sounds genuine, they're just soundbites to garner support for her party. I don't believe she believes anything she says.

Indeed same here can't stand her. She is the chief pontificator supreme who will fight to the death to say why she is right even though she often isn't.

The outcry and cheers when Labour managed to win (lose) the election was a particular highlight, oh and the snobbery in calling out white van man Dave on his England flag.

You can see her and others just waiting and praying for another reason to lecture everyone on whatever issue.

It's not just the white van England flag thing either, it's on every question time appearance, daily politics, this week et al. A career politician who holds contempt for voters and believes that because she's an MP that she's "better" than most people.
