Empty seats song?

I thought it was both of these songs actually but either way I have always appreciated our gallows humour. My favourite chant of recent years is our riposte to the Everton fans who sang: "You've got no history" and our reply was: "You've got no future." They have never sung it since.

My favourite City chant was back in the really dark days when we plummeted down the second division. Sheffield United at Bramall Lane and they sang the old terrace classic “We hate Wednesday and we hate Wednesday...we are the Wednesday haters”

To which we depended “we hate Saturday and we hate Saturday...”

I like the words to the Dzeko song. Not the song itself,(tune) who we nicked of the scousers, who they nicked off the European team that first thought of it.

Many songs are plagiarised with lyrics bastardised to suit. Most of those songs/chants bore me, especially the monotone chants with hardly any words. I like the unique quirky songs that we blues sing.

Oh Balotelli, Niall Quinn's disco pants, we are not really here, we never win at home etc etc. They are amongst our best IMO. Bluemoon was ok years ago, but now it seems dreary and dated. We nicked it off Crewe Alex though, for those who didn't know.

The Empty seats song to Beautiful South is top quality, quirky and unique: )

The Scousers didn’t start singing to the Edin Szeko song. It’s been around for decades as “The scousers sing, I don’t know why, coz after the match, they’re gonna die”.

City have had some original ones recently which have caught on round the country. Here’s to you Vincent Kompany, The Zabaleta Song, Istanbul we are coming and of course City Til I die.

City till I die has been sung for donkeys years. I can't remember any other club singing it then but many have adapted the song since. Did we first sing it?

Yes we did, in the late 90s. It died a death because people started clapping and speeding it up.

I suppose that isn’t recently, really, is it? ;-)

The Vincent Kompany song was sang by City fans in 1979 when we signed Michael Robinson from Preston
You can also include the Yaya / Kolo song which took off all over the place even no football games!

Late 90s, you sure? I seem to recall it being sang in the 80s. I maybe wrong though.
I went to most aways back then and the first time I remember CTID being belted out was away at Bradford, I think during frank Clark’s spell. 97ish. It may of course have been sung before then but in my memory that’s the time it took off.

My memory is trashed from too much alcohol from many games mate. Some games I have no recollection of whatsoever. And someone mentions something and it starts creeping back. A bit like an old TV that's not tuned in properly; )
