Apologies if covered elsewhere, but why were there about three rows of empty seats at the back of the stand at Chlesea last night against the Rags?...... I know it's not because they couldn't sell the tickets

thanks, but i meant at the back of the stand behind the goal in the Chelsea end..... I also noticed at another match they played in the Champs League.

It's because of the ridiculously large advertising hoardings UEFA insist on, we had to do it in the Europa. utterly pointless.

Also there was a small square block in the rags end just off centre of the goal?

thanks, but i meant at the back of the stand behind the goal in the Chelsea end..... I also noticed at another match they played in the Champs League.

Also there was a small square block in the rags end just off centre of the goal?

The little section in the rags end was because of the position of the 5th official, presumably so the fans weren't too close to him as there's very little off-pitch space at Stamford Bridge.

at the back the view is slightly obscured so uefa wont allow chelsea to sell tickets there

IF it's true that they had to block an emergency exit then it's definitely plausible as the safe capacity of any stand depends on being able to evacuate it within a fixed timescale in an emergency so closing one emergency exit will affect that.

There was one of these at each end, they were behind the official UEFA photographer sections.
