Emre Can

Notwithstanding that he absolutely is good enough to play for us, getting him for free is a no brainer. We have other places in the squad to upgrade next summer and if we're spending big on a central defender it would do us very well to take Can for nothing. Pep has worked with him (briefly) before and will have obviously seen enough of him during his time in the league to make a good determination one way or the other.

We have a few pennies. Unless we're talking getting a good squad player on a free, where we have a quality young/prime 1st XI player, or Leo Messi, "free" doesn't mean much imo

CB and DM are the 2 positions we ought to be looking at as priority 1st XI signings in the summer. No need to look for bargains there.

Given that Sanchez will join for next to nothing, if not nothing, that's all the squad needs apart from a new backup LB and GK, neither of which should cost a lot - if anything if Gunn comes back.

He is good player and had some periods at Liverpool when he was their best player. He downed his tools this season, not sure it's ok to judge him for this year. He is versatile player too and that's what Pep likes.

Can is seeing out his contract as he looks like he will no longer be a first choice at Liverpool when keita joins can't see him getting into the side ahead of Henderson and coutinho. He is young and will want assurances about playing time as well as champs league think juve can offer him both.

He was running his contract down way before they bought Keita. Him leaving is the reason why they bought Keita.

Liverpool midfielder Emre Can is set to snub Juventus in favour of joining Manchester City.

The German international is entering the final eight months of his Liverpool contract and will be able to leave the club as a free agent next summer.

According to The Daily Star, the Italian behemoths are resigned to losing out on Can as Pep Guardiola steps up his pursuit of the midfielder.

Can, who cost the Anfield club £10million from Bayer Leverkusen three years ago, has been a regular for Jurgen Klopp's side this season, making 15 appearances and scoring three goals.

Despite this, there has been no movement in talks about Can extending his stay at Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp is hopeful of renewing Can's deal but won't stand in his way if he wishes to leave

Klopp said that he was hopeful of renewing his deal at the end of the season but admitted there was not much he could do if Can chooses to run his contract down.

'It's allowed that he could sign a contract with us in May,' the Kop boss said when speaking about Can's future earlier this month.

'I have no problem with that [but] we have to respect when a contract ends. If a contract ends there are two sides who could have done things differently.'

Can is a no brainer, Klopp is a bang average manager who shouts and jumps about a lot to mask his tactical and coaching deficiency so its hardly surprising he hasn't come on leaps and bounds since he joined.

I really think a change of scenery, Pep in his ear and playing alongside the masters themselves in KDB and Silva to name two would immediately bring him up a notch. Can play in different positions, young, up to speed with the prem and on a free it would be great business. Potential to get Sanchez, Can and Ghoulam on a free is fantastic and would put down a marker next summer hopefully on the back of a successful season.

There is no such thing as a "free" when the player is in demand. Players such as Can, Sanchez, Ghoulam will not sign for free, they will command a very, very healthy signing on fee.
